BAYS to host second junior high regional choir audition workshop

HOUSTON, Aug. 2011 — On Saturday, Sept. 17, Bay Area Youth Singers (BAYS) will host its second annual junior high region choir audition music workshop. The purpose of this half-day program is to help seventh and eighth grade students in public, private or home schools prepare to audition for the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) sponsored junior high region choir.”

BAYS developed the region choir audition music workshop to give junior high students the opportunity to receive advanced preparation for the All-Region Choir audition process,” explained Brenda Varvoutis, BAYS artistic director. “The response to our 2010 workshop was overwhelmingly positive and I know that students who attend the 2011 program will have a true head start on mastering the choral pieces required for this audition.”
